Definition: The practice of officially examining books, movies, etc., and
suppressing unacceptable parts.
Many things in daily life are censored. The government along with other associations can change song lyrics, television shows, and books. People censor a book because they believe that certain material in that book is offensive or inappropriate in some way. Instead of letting people make their own decisions of what is acceptable, they decide for the public. Although the person trying to censor the book may have good intentions, such as honestly believing it will benefit society as a whole, it is not right to allow someone to make that decision for others. Everyone has the right to their own opinions and thoughts on what is wrong.
